Bingin, on the Bukit Penisula, is right in the centre of the best waves in Bali and Swell is very deliberately placed so that you only have a short walk (250m) to the beach.  Restaurants are all around us and Yoga, a gym, a mini-mart, a spa and even a laundry are all within a very short walk.  There is no other Uluwatu  Surf retreat with a better location than Swell.

We started our  first Surf retreat  in the Caribbean 13 years ago. Clients loved the concept of the luxuries of a boutique hotel with the social aspects of a hostel.  Swell in the Caribbean has ideal learning-to-surf conditions for people who have never surfed before and is also a good choice for a retreat.  But after looking for a location for a second surf resort, with detours in Mexico and Costa Rica; we finally made it back to Bali after 20 years.  Both Swell’s are designed with a social aspect as the focus and that’s what makes both venues a great choice for groups.  We haven’t forgotten the comfort level either, so our rooms have A/C, (and mosquito screens at the windows if you like sleeping with fresh air), natural latex mattresses, Egyptian cotton sheets, and very tasty and healthy food.  

Bingin is a very cool & quaint little Surf, Yoga & fitness village in the SW corner of Bali.  Bingin is unique in that it is still a real Balinese village. There are no high rise buildings or massive hotels. Instead, you will likely have the local cows wandering down the street (they are as chilled out as the villagers).  The beach is really charming with bright white sand.  The surf is world-class at Bingin and on the different tides, suitable for beginners, intermediate and experts surfers.
There are restaurants who cater to vegan, vegetarian and all food choices; we even have a French bakery opening in October 2020, just 150m from our front door. 
Several places offer Yoga and fitness classes. Bingin is the ideal base for a Bali Surf & Yoga Holiday.

A short walk from Swell Bali you will find the world-class wave of Bingin.  Bingin is a machine like a left-hander that breaks over  reef, however on the higher tides and smaller swells it’s also a great wave for beginners and intermediates. Impossibles is another wave that Swell guests can walk to, without the need for a scooter or taxi. It’s a long left-hander that is suitable for intermediate and expert surfers. For long rides, it’s best on a bigger swell and can easily hold waves up to 4-5 x overhead. On smaller waves, you can still enjoy Impossibles but don’t expect the waves to connect all the way through.
Looking for mellow intermediate waves? Walk to Dreamland and enjoy mellow waves. Dreamland is best on the lower tides. Overall if you want to enjoy the best waves that Bali has to offer, you could not be better located than in Bingin with Swell Bali Surf retreat

If you are hosting a retreat, the best way is to send Clare a message .  Let her know how many nights, how many guests you will have and what you would need us to provide in the way of meals/surf lessons etc.  Please note though retreat-organisers, it’s not cheap to rent Swell Bali entirely; a 7-night rental of all 9 rooms starts at $5000 USD.  The final price you will pay will depend on the number of guests you have and what you need us to provide for your retreat.
